hi everyone hope all well.i used to make wine years ago with some success.so I thought I would give beer a try being a complete novice at this a wondered if any one could recommend a good book to get me started. many thanks

I'd second what Braziliain said, those 2 books were my first and best "how to" books. I've got a bit of a library now but I'd still go for those 2 first. Greg Hughes book has a heap of excellent recipes, all grain with extract options and a more to the point guide on brewing in the first pages (might still be 50 pages that bit). How to brew covered everything, especially now it's got a 4th edition, I used the 3rd and it's the 1st that's online.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I remember (only four years ago) going back and forth with the sections of the John Palmer on-line book. Extremely helpful and easy to understand. He made it easy to do extract for me.
Hi!

John Palmer wrote a book called How to Brew that many people rate highly, myself included.

You can buy it for £18ish or you can read it free on the website www.howtobrew.com

I also like the Greg Hughes book Home Brew Beer.
Plus one.
