Hi all,

Does anyone have or seen the recipe for Vocation Brewrys Life & Death IPA please.

It’s just the best beer I’ve ever tasted, I’ve gotta try brewing it.

Thanks
Matt

Life and death is a pretty solid ipa but I've had much better, probably one of the better "craft" beers available in a supermarket yes. But find a decent bottle shop and you will be surprised. As far as a recipe goes it tastes to me like mostly mosaic and Citra.

Chinnook and Amarillo for bittering, for flavour and aroma and dry hops Citra and Mosaic 50/50 acheers.

This is also a bit of a go to beer for me, yes there's better out there but £9 for 8 cans in Tesco is great value and certainly nicer than any of the BrewDog offerings at the same price. I try not to buy much beer when I'm at home preferring to drink my own but it's a nice treat on holiday. It's also the sort of thing that I would like to replicate if I ever get to do some all grain.

It's a nice beer. Also on the 8 for £9.00 is Thornbridge's Green Mountain, which I'd be interested in a recipe for (it says Mosaic, Amarillo and Galaxy on the can, I can probably make a decent stab at it from that). Green Mountain is probably my favourite beer at the moment.
If you happen to see Vocation's Bread & Butter that's also very nice.
Will watch this thread with interest.

I asked them about their hops... Mosaic and Citra so well done Stigman. I didn't ask for the full recipe as it seems to me to be an all about the hops type of beer.

Anthony Barrett ex Vocation said it's based on Heady Topper which I find very interesting!

On the subject of decent AIPA, I had a couple of Eight Arch Corbel recently. What a lovely pint! I've got the CAMRA book with the recipe in it, but I see Malt Miller do a 20 L kit of £41. CML don't do Corbel, but they do a kit with a tad more grain and equally exotic hops (ok a few less hops, but it's hard to find an exact comparison) for £26.50 with free delivery.
