I started watching 'The Detectorists' because of the recommendation on here. Firstly, I love it, have watched all of series 1 and 2 on Netflix. Then last week I found out that there was a series 3, but that isn't on Netflix. Managed to find it on t'interweb and Youtube though.

Currently in the process of re-watching it back to back with the Christmas special thrown in for good measure.

To anyone who liked Detectorists and missed it first time around, I'd highly recommend 'Lead Balloon'. It's in a similar vein - fairly gentle and very British.

There are four series and it's brilliantly written and beautifully performed. The characters are so well developed that you find yourself becoming attached to them! It stars Jack Dee.

Finished Unabomber last night. Based on a true story, it's an easy watch - 8 episodes each around 45 minutes.

It's very good and the pace picks up with each epsiode. Highly recommended.

I just finished S2 of Making a Murderer, really good for those who've seen S1. They go over some of the criticisms of the first season which I thought was a good move. They follow Brendon Dassey's post conviction case, and Steven Avery's lawyer as she goes through the evidence with a fine tooth comb reconstructing the crime.

Me and the Mrs watched this on your recommendation. Keep in mind, she is a criminologist, and therefore very critical of many of these types of programs.

We both thought it was absolutely fantastic. Gripping, intelligent, but not overly hard to watch. Thank you!

As this has been bumped....

Enjoyed Bodyguard on BBC1 though it would seem like everyone watched it anyway :)

Off the back of that someone said about Killing Eve on the iPlayer. Several episodes into that now and it's pretty good.

Let's get this thread started again!

Recently watched;

The Sinner (2 seasons). I really enjoyed this. A gritty US detective who has his own demons to contend with, on a murder hunt. 8/10.

Designated Survivor (2 seasons but I only watched the first). It's all a bit far-fetched even given the state of the world today (The White House is blown up killing the President and his cabinet bar one member who leaves his seat moments before the blast). Kiefer Sutherland is the 'designated survivor' who is handed the presidency and has to run the country but also find the perpetrators and stop any further attacks. I enjoyed it, but it's all a little bit 'glossy' (think US soap opera). Season 2 is supposed to be rubbish, so I won't bother with it.7/10.

After Life. I guess you either like Ricky Gervais or you don't. I think he's brilliant, but I didn't like After Life as much as The Office or Extras (both of which were brilliant). It's very dark in places, as it deals with the effects of death on those left behind, but it has its lighter moments. Season 2 is on its way. 7/10.

Baptiste. Worth watching for Tom Hollander's performance - he is an excellent actor. An older detective searches for a missing sex worker in Amsterdam and gets caught in a web of corruption and violence. It's all a bit convoluted, but it held my attention to the end. 6/10.

I'm now 5 episodes into Stranger Things and although sci-fi is not normally my thing, I'm really enjoying it. Will report back once I've finished all 8 episodes. There's a season 2 to watch and season 3 starts on Netflix on July 4th. 8/10 (so far).

Without doubt, for quirky viewing - Professor T - on All4 box sets. Set in Antwerp, in Flemish & French with subtitles. 3 series.

Yep - Fleabag (Series one) was exceptional. I hope I will not be let down by the second series....

Recently went back and watched the first four series of Line of Duty. Like most Police dramas, it stretches belief slightly at times, but I have to say it is brilliantly done. I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in crime dramas. Will watch series 5 when it arrives on Netflix.

Now 6 episodes into Narcos, which passed me by first time around. It's every bit as good as people say and I'm expecting it to get even better.

Waiting for Altered Carbon S2 and Stranger Things S3. In the meantime, Good Omens on Amazon Prime was fantastic and I'm wanting to watch the new Catch 22.

Watched Chernobyl on sky the other day. Pretty powerful stuff.
Don’t know if it’s available elsewhere, I use dads sky go account.
