The poll will run for 24 hours (from 15:30 today) and as some members suggested up to 3 members in the original thread members have 3 votes in the poll.

As in the original if you want to add your reasons for voting feel free to post in the thread. :thumba:

As the poll seems to be over, I want to extend warm congratulations to @strange-steve as 2018 Member of the Year.
Thank you to all who voted for me - it was a great honour.
Commiserations to @Dutto - I rate you highly for your excellent support of this forum and your knowledgeable comments.
Thanks also to @Chippy_Tea for organising this hugfest!

Yes,well deserved! Thanks for the vote people...I'm relieved my ramblings and sense of humour are generally well received.

Well,if you had used your time machine you would have known the results and could have drummed up some more support!

And my dad told me I'd never amount to anything! Just wait till I tell him that a small number of people whom I've never met voted me member of the year of a rather niche hobby internet forum, primarily based on a guide I wrote two years ago for one very specific, and possibly superfluous aspect of said hobby.

Of course I'll have to explain to him what a forum is so that he can appreciate the magnitude of this achievement, but once I do he'll finally have something to be proud of.

When my wife hears about this she'll finally recognise that all those hours spent brewing, all the money spent, the new Grainfather, the damage to the kitchen, the wort spilled on the floor, bottles broken and liver damage, have in fact all been worthwhile and leading up to this moment.

Of everything I've accomplished in 2019 so far, this is by a long way my proudest moment so thanks to all those who voted for me and I eagerly await my award. Presumably there's a monetary award of some sort, maybe one of those giant cheques you see on TV?

:p

Congratulations Steve and better luck next year Col.

Thanks to everyone who took part and to all members who use the forum regularly.

The number of votes says how much we appreciate the constant responses to question, after question, after question on water. By far the most read thread on the forum. Cheers sir

One of these cheques maybe? What number is that
