Traditionally they should be down by the twelfth night when do you take yours down assuming you haven't already.

Ours came down today as we have had issues with out gas supply and the tree sits on top of the gas meter box in the living room.

(to be honest i was glad to see it go back in the attic - bah humbug)

We took ours down on the 27th. Today is my daughter’s birthday and we like to make sure we have a gap between Christmas and her birthday. We also put it up on 30th November so it had been up ages!

Wrong! …

They are to come down on Twelfth Day. 6th January. Often muddles up us modern folk (and me for quite a few years), but in medieval times (no clocks) the day ended with sunset and the new day started. So Twelfth Night is the evening of the 5th January (next Saturday). The first night of Christmas is the evening of Christmas Eve when everyone (well... not everyone) goes to church.

My decorations continue to twinkle until Sunday when they will be taken down. And a bit of greenery (Christmas tree) kept in the house until next Christmas. Or all me beer made in 2019 will go off (if the entire house doesn't collapse first). You really have to keep abreast of these important facts … or else!

You won't be standing long if you've already thrown all your greenery out!

But, I don't know how long I can stay standing as there is a few feasting days yet before Twelfth Night meal.

It's all bolix. Ours went away yesterday - only endure them cos of the insistence of the missus. And if Xmas finishes on the 6th, why are most folk back at work today? F*** that... I should be on nights but I've phoned in badly. Hey, it's still Xmas, right?

When we can be bothered ! At the weekend probably as SWMBO is out of action with man flu and I can’t be trusted with the baubles !

When we did Xmas years ago, don't now... we used to put the plastic tree carefully with all the decorations and trimmings on, into the attic ready to just lift out and display again the following year, saved a lot of work and hassle.

Yeah. We've all been scammed. So what we going to do about it? …

(Work? What's that then? Must be fun as people are so keen to get back to it, even before Christmas is finished too.).

Down on new years day. The tree normally stays in the garden until about march!!!!!!

Er indoors would happily be taking them down on Boxing day but now with the kids she relents and they'll usually stay up until at least New Year's Day. This year she's been a bit slack, I thought I'd get home yesterday and they'd be gone but she had her sister over so still up yesterday evening. Suspect it will all be away by the time I get home tonight. I'll be tackling the outdoor illuminations on the weekend.

Don't know when we'll take our tree down this year - the kids have all gone back to their respective homes so we've got a bit of peace and quiet again, but the tree's not shedding yet. Also round here the Christmas period isn't over yet - we've still got Hen Galan to do yet (old new year's eve - 13th January) which is still celebrated round here. You'll find us in our local community owned pub, Tafarn Sinc, bringing in Hen Galan with the Mari Lwyd. And then we do it all again in Chepstow the week after...

Well it's Twelfth Day (Twelfth Night were last night) and everyone should have taken their decorations down or be doing it before sunset today. Unless you're @Cwrw666 in which case you cling onto any excuse for yet more Christmas beer guzzling.

My tree came down this morning. The rest of the week I will be drinking my low-alcohol beer. Damn, its run out … wonder what's in this keg? :beer1:
