Hi guys,

Would anyone care to share a recipe with me for what they think is a really great beer? I have been brewing my own recipes for a while now, tweaking here and there and changing things up. Fancy something different, so any recipes you've created that are great - or ones you've pulled from the internet/magazines and found them really good.

As for styles, I'm open to most. I do like light crisp beers - so lagers, pales and IPA's are grand. Not overly keen on dark beers, but I don't dislike them. Would rather avoid sours due to contamination risk. But, any suggestions then just fire them my way!

Oh and I'd be happy to send a couple of bottles off to the person who suggests the recipe that I go for. To review, provide feedback and compare to their attempts.

4kg pale
227g crystal 150
181g each of flaked maize,porridge oats and wheat. Last time I added 100g of acidulated malt.
I aim for around 50 IBU and usually use Apollo for bittering and falconers flight @10,steep and dry hop but have used combination of amarillo,columbus,Simcoe and cascade. It likes any of the fruity tropical hops. US 05 is ok I use the CML US pale.
 
This may sound crackers, but the recipe for 1934 Barkley Perkins Draught Lager here is really great. I followed the original BP mash schedule outlined by Kristen England in the comments; not sure if that is super important. I 'fake lagered' it, brewing at 12° using CML Kolsch yeast, but I'm sure a lager yeast would be great.

It's hard to describe how a simple pale lager made from 50/50 lager / pale malt, Saaz hops and nothing else at all can be soooooooo delicious. But it is!

This sounds interesting. Could do this and employ the Brulosophy quick lager method.

Thanks Matt! Will check them links out, tangerine IPA sounds ace and Black IPA's interest me quite a bit!

I'm just finishing off a keg of elderflower lager. One of the best brews I've ever made.
