Surprised a thread hasn't started yet.

Look's like an easy call this weekend with wins for Wales, Ireland and Scotland but then when does the 6N's ever follow the form book.

As for the championship I would like to think Wales v Ireland winner takes all on the last weekend.

Surely no one can disagree with that forecast:laugh8:

It never follows the form book, However I can see some repetitions from last year perhaps.

Italy will continue to struggle, France will continue to be massively disappointing from where they were 10 years ago. England will continue to make mistakes and lack leadership. I cannot see anyone stopping Ireland to be honest. Wales could be on for a slam shootout with Ireland.. Think Scotland will tussle with England for 3rd they have some tough away games.

England will win all their matches by at least 4 tries each. Scotland and Wales will lose all theirs by at least 4 tries. Ireland are my backstop and who cares what the others do. Right, off to the bookies for an accumulator coz I'm retiring off the back of this one. :thumba:

Im hoping that England pull off a surprise on Saturday which will blow tournie wide open. Not often you see England 11/4 in a 6 nations game, home or away. Most likely outcome is Ireland win championship easily before succumbing to a lacklustre world cup campaign.

Surprised to see Manu picked at 12, IMO he hasn;t quite got it back for Tigers and has the tendency to shoot out of the line creating a dog leg in the midfield it could be suisidal.. That said I am sure Eddie Jones knows what he is doing compared to a youth coach say at his computer on a beer forum

Te'o is injured so Manu is picked. Jones seems to like a 'steamroller' in the middle (sorry, that should be power-runner). I thought that big winger (can't remember his name) he tried in the Autumn tests would have been preferred to Manu.

However, the ball has to get to the backs first. In the last 6 Nations, England's big problem was getting quick ball from the breakdown. They slowed everything down allowing the defence to reset so recycled the ball to the forwards to gain a couple of yards, ad nauseam. They seem to do better when they supply quick ball to the backs and get them running at the opposition.

Cokanasiga? Injured.

Sponsored by Guinness? It should be called the Homebrew Six Nations.

Ropey start for Wales but the conditions are dreadful. I feel like if Ireland win tomorrow it’ll be hard for anyone to catch them. France are always a wild card though. England, Wales and Scotland are mediocre.

Wales were absolutley awful in that first half , France decided anything Wales can do can we can do worser.. They are undoubtedly better the second half but France just gifted them this.

I cannot see Ireland losing any sleep over either of these two..

There’s a limit to what you can take away from a game played in this muck though.

And France have gifted Wales another try :laugh8: this is exactly what I meant above, conditions don't make you do things like that

What a strange game that was! 16-0 up at half time, any decent side goes on to win it. Wales were dreadful in the first half (has Anscombe ever actually played rugby before?) and France showed how flaky they are in the second half. On that evidence, neither side will win the championship.

Yeah It was weird but entertaining, I would say France managed to pull off a great defeat of themselves.. Wales were much better the second half though..

Very odd game, but great to watch, for a "neutral". Why Dan "the Dull" Biggar was not on the pitch from the off, is a question that can never be answered. If ever the game and conditions suited his annoying (etc, etc) style, this was it.

To sum up - Wales tried very hard to lose for 40 minutes, sticking to a game plan that might have suited a parallel game in an alternative universe.
Wales were then surpassed in this strategy by a French side who found new and exciting ways to lose a game that could not rationally have been lost. Except by a French side whose game looks totally without any form of structure or leadership.

Tomorrow Scotland (Hooray, for us an' wha's like us, damn few an' the'r a' deed") play Italy. As ever, the great dread of those of us who dare to hope, is that this will be for the Wooden Spoon. I can never forget the day that we went 21-0 down at home to Italy within 7 minutes. Every time I looked up from the ironing, we had thrown another intercepted pass for a try. May have been Dan Parks' last game for his antipodean adopted country.

He was a great kicker to the line, though, was yon Dan. And much maligned for a collective failure that day.

Not a rugby football but have watched

It was the same for both sides and Wales were awful in the first half they couldn't hold the ball.

I missed the second half so was pleasantly surprised (and shocked) to hear the final score this morning.
