Matt blackboard paint. I gave it a rough key with some course wire wool and then that was two coats with a gloss mini roller which got the finish

I used this paint from Amazon. It was the best value for the smallest tin as you don’t need much at all. But I’ve got plenty for other blackboard projects around the house.
I had planned to go with this stuff:

http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338413729&icep_item=391986107745

But looking at the cracking finish you've got, I think I'll get the same as you did!

Hoddy is that a 60cm wide fridge you have with the 4 taps if so any chance you can let me know what brand and model cheers lagerlad

I found here https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/40cm-door-mounted-drip-trays/ at £34 was the best value. Had to wait a while until they got the 40cm in stock to cover all 4 of my taps (as you can seen in the pic) that spacing allows just enough to be able to stand a filling glass under every tap at once.

All my pipe work is adapted pipe work from the malt miller premium party tap kits.

Taps came from BrewKegTap as a complete unit of stainless tap and shank when they had a mega deal on and got a tap, shank, handle and push fit for something like £40 each.
Thanks for that. I got my brass taps from a three tap font that I got on ebay for £30, I'll post a photo tomorrow.

How was it fitting the drip tray? My fridge door is curved so I didn't think one of those would be suitable. Does look the dogs balls.
Also what pens do you use? I bought a white chalk pen but I couldn't rabbit off so ö had to paint it again. Perhaps I need to try using a roller like you did.

The door on mine is curved too. What I found was by using 12mm self tapping screw fasteners (Screwfix) that the drip tray flex’s just enough to finish nice and flush to door. Stainless is strong but also does bend quite nicely without folding. And the roller finish is so much better than a brush as you don’t get any brush strokes when it dries.

The pens I used were these ones below. What I like about these was the different colours and nib widths that you can change around. I just wipe mine off with a baby wipe and it does the trick

So it’s a Hotpoint RLA64 (future) model. I actually have two of these fridges as they are so good and are great full height larder fridges. But the extra bonus with these fridges is they have extra depth and width so you can fit 4 cornie kegs in it, or a full size conical fermenter.

But your right it is a standard 600 width and worktop deep fridge. Just with loads of space inside

Cheers m8 will try and pick one up check see what is for sale local,I use crusaders and can fit 2 plus my co2 in my kegerator but fancy going for 4 with co2 outside

I use perlicks 650 taps with flow control and even with flow fully open find the pour a bit slow but get a good pint lines are 6 feet anyone reckon I should shorten them same style of set up as hoddys brewfridge pictured earlier in this thread

Here's mine. As mentioned earlier, I used the taps from a triple font which I bought on here (not ebay). The taps have JG push fits on the back.

I like the control box built into the collar there. athumb..
Ditto. I was contemplating buying one to mount somewhere on the keezer, but not the collar. I like how slick they look. ITC-308 is convenient, although it is bulky and ugly. But might as well use it as I already have one.

I think it's worth doing to finish the job off. I've just got to fit big casters and a drip tray, probably from MaltMiller although I'd have liked a brass finish one to match the taps but not managed to find one yet.
The reason I decided against it initially was because I suspected there wouldn't be enough length in the probe cable (2m) to run from the front bottom of the freezer, to the back, up to the collar and back down to the floor of the keezer.

I just doubled the length of an NTC probe cable at work and surprisingly there is no difference in readout vs the original length. Even if so, the STC-1000 can be calibrated which is a nice feature. Cannot wait to get home and get started!

Arrived home yesterday afternoon and collected the freezer last night.

5 kegs will fit with ease, although I think I'd be unable to remove the front ones as the tap shanks will be in the way.

Any thoughts guys? It's looking like a 4 keg keezer.

Would you be able to tell me the external dimensions of the freezer please? I'm trying to hunt down a chest freezer for my keezer (to be built for the summer) but it's hard to know how many kegs might fit. My space is 900mm wide, so that's fixed, but there seem to be many variations on depth in particular.

If you really wanted to get 5 kegs in there, I wonder whether you could use a thinner piece of wood for the front part of the collar, where the taps will attach to. That way the shank might not overhang the existing wall of the fridge by much.

Do you have any grand plans for the final look and finish? Worth signing up to Pinterest and having a look on there for some inspiration as there are some pretty neat looking ones on there. Have a look for "Steampunk Kegerator" if you're really wanting something eye-catching!

Hi @-Bezza-,

I'll get the dimensions for you when I arrive home. Just on my way back from B&Q will paint, etc.

That could be a plan regarding a thinner front part of the collar. I did buy the JG right angled stem fittings, maybe they'll do the trick. I've also just ordered 2" shanks, the 4" ones are unopened. So hopefully I can return the ones I don't end up using...

Regarding final finish, I'm aiming for something like this:
