Now you'll never know.
Still ropy, but I kinda tasted some this time, small tentative sip... Didn't want a mouthful of slimy beer. sick... It's kinda horrible, the big malty beer combined with the viscosity clash with the developing acidity in a bad way.

Tempted to dump them to make some space and free up the bottles, probably just going to end up full of diacetyl from the pedio and I've no way of knowing if there's brett in there too to clean it up. Bottles will likely explode if both are present since the beer finished at 1.020. Wonder how the deliberately infected carboy of this stuff is coming along? It's due a check.

It might be the first sign of the formation of one of these:

Synonymous with wild sours, so it kind of fits the bill.
Yeah, they might get a pellicle too but currently all I can tell is that there's a pediococcus infection as that the bug that makes bee go "ropy."

Also, welcome to the forum. :-)

I had something symilar happen to a smoked porter I brewed in may 2017.
The SG was 1060 and FG 1011. After a few months of waiting if it got better, I dumped 3/4 of the brew down the drain. However last week I came accross one of the bottles I didn't dump. I tried it and the taste and mouthfeel were great.
So my advice would be not to dump everything down the drain and keep at least part of the bottles in the back of your shed to try in a year or so. Even if it's only to see what it turns in to.
I now wish I hadn't dumped so much of the porter. Patience is the key!

Or a bout of memory loss

Thanks for sharing, Might find a sturdy box and hide them in the shed or something, I'm fairly sure that once the weather warms up they're going to explode. There's also kinda in the way now, we'll see.

I know it’s risky with oxidation and what not not to mention being a real faff but what about opening the bottles and decanting back into an FV then bottling again once everything is stable again?

It is an option, chances are the oxygen pickup would wreck it anyway, I may consider this if I can be bothered. :-)
