March is here & with it a freestyle competition so whatever you've got brewed is on style! Would love to try some styles I've never tasted before but also now realise the daunting task of judging a categoryless category! :tinhat:

I'll put up another Norfolk / Suffolk bottle selection as a prize (2 or 3 bottles depending on what fits in the box) & I'll update the thread with beers as & when I find / choose them.

Drop me a PM for address or if you've sent me a beer before, I'm at the same address.

Cheers:cheers3:

I have a selection at the moment, been building up for summer. Id like to send something in but as its freestyle I guess it should be something you enjoy, but happy to send something a bit different... Do you like dark or light/hoppy? Below are the ones I would consider sending.

Raspberry wheat beer - very tasty, I have made this a few times and trying to perfect it. GF loves this one, saving loads on wine!
Wee heavy - Great malty beer, very dark.
Kolsch - Decent, not exactly what I was going for but is improving alot with age
Anchor steam beer - Quite fresh (kegged last week) but think in a few weeks this will be a brilliant beer, the colour is amazing!
Milk stout - Not tried since Dec but was pretty good.
Scottish Export - Unusual, seems bland at first but is very drinkable... This is going to be one of my "house beers" as it is light and refreshing yet malty. Quite dark.
6am saint (adjusted brewdog 5am saint recipe - brewing now) - will be finished next week, hoping this will be a nice hoppy beer.

Take your pick. Am I allowed to enter more than 1?

Yes you can enter more than one. You choose which ones you think will have best chance of winning

I believe you can send multiple entries but only your highest scoring beer can place i.e. you couldn't place 1st and 2nd.

I'm happy to judge as many as you're happy to enter :beer1: As it's still a competition, I'm not going to express preference. I haven't come across a style I don't like yet so don't worry on that front!

I use the competitions as a way of getting some impartial feedback on my beer so maybe enter the beer(s) based on that?

Great. Im an unfussy beer drinker too, like to try everything. Ill send a couple of different ones, just need to get round to bottling as all are in kegs at the moment. Ill pm for address

So prize beer #1 is an Adnams / Northern Monk collab Export Porter. Really dark old school porter with lots of roast & smoke aroma but combined with a modern hop schedule of Simcoe, Mosaic & Chinook. Sounds wrong but I think it's wonderful.

I'm lucky to have a proper Adnams shop in my town so I've got easy access to their entire range. Their Ghost Ship pale ale started my beer experimentation journey & they also do the best (for my money) alcohol free beer in their Ghost Ship 0.5%.

Anyway, I've had a few enquiries for entries so keep them coming guys, I'm back on the search for prize beer #2...

I'm planning to send one too - towards the end of the month, as its also still in the FV

I've had around 7 address requests so far which is fantastic! Looking forward to receiving these in the post.

Remember any style goes & I'll provide BJCP-style feedback on any beer you send. Planning to judge weekend of 6/7th April so plenty of time.

Still deciding on what prize beer #2 (& potentially #3) will be but my local craft brewery, Ampersand, have got an interesting release coming up so will keep you posted.

:laugh8:
I have a lemon and lime Berliner boxed up and ready to go in the post :thumba:
Your beer arrived today Steve safe & sound & has gone straight into the conditioning fridge.

Loving the eclectic styles being offered. There's a BIPA, Berliner Weisse, Chilli Stout & NEIPA promised or delivered so far. Going to need some palate cleansers I think! :laugh8:
