Even Kelloggs are getting involved.

Bit of a shaggy dog story for sun readers that know nothing about brewing. Corn Flakes and Rice Crispies are of course just adjuncts to us brewers (flaked rice and flaked corn). I put some cheapo ASDA rice crispies in my last brew. They worked a treat. Good that Kelloggs are getting into the sustainability thing though and the food stuff doesn't just go to waste

I used 1.1kg of KCF in a lager not to long ago and it was actually quite nice but what a stuck mash I had to deal with....

I read that as KFC!. Now that would be pushing the boundries of bad taste beer!

When I did the rice crispies beer the it took a bit of effort to get the wort to drain through the bag.

I did a Brexfast beer (no continental breakfast items) that had rice crispies, cornflakes, weetabix, toast and shreddies. They were competely undetectable.

Sugar puffs and coco pops are going in my next choc milk stout
The coco pops could actually work! I might even try that myself in a gallon demijon with DME. The sugar puffs though are not what they used to be, I regard them as nothing more than sweet blobs of polystyrene sick....

Haven't had them in decades. More of a museli man.
The link mentions coco pops in a stout

Might try a Shreddies mash one day soon!

Good call. Might give shreddies a go

Er ... where I live my "shreddies" are also known as my underpants! Whilst I may have made the odd brew that tasted as if I had used my shreddies at some stage of the process I can't recommend them for brewing beer!

BTW the Sun article started "BEER fans can soon get their hands on an unusual new combination made with Kellogg's most-loved cereals."

I'm a "beer fan" but I'm not sure that I would pay good money for what will probably be a dire brew, so I await a report with interest!
