iPad help please!

Any iPad experts out there?
Got iPad air that doesn't recognize the charger..no lightning strike near the battery icon. The cable is a "made for" type and works with an identical iPad. Also tried a genuine cable and charger...same again. I left it on charge today and it took around 7 hours to get from 2 to 42% it's charging but very slowly. I've tried numerous hard resets and tried to connect it to iTunes to do an iOS restore but the laptop doesn't see it even with latest iTunes..it sees the other iPad though...so I'm thinking it's the charging port...I've checked it for fluff and ****...it's clean. I've contacted apple and gone through all of the above and booked a walk in at the Apple approved repair in Chester on Monday....but would like to see if there's an alternative before committing..

Have you cleaned out the apple charging port. I find they collect dust

Try new cable; I have lots of gadgets and some will charge with one cable but not an identical one.

Turn it off and try cleaning the charging port with some isopropyl alcohol. We use 'Sterets' in our clinics at work which are ideal for this. If you've got any friends who are doctors or nurses they will probably have some in their kit bags.

There’s a couple of videos on you tube regarding fluff in the charge port I had the same on an iPhone
