I have been looking at falconer's flight as well. I haven't used them before. Seems to get good reviews. Vic secret is another but it's sold out anywhere I look
The Malt Miller's got some leaf at a reasonable price.
Wasn't all that impressed myself. Prefer Galaxy. Galaxy is well and truly sold out.

Have you used falconer's flight
No I've never used them. Always a bit wary of "blends" as I'd prefer to blend my own and FF seems to have too many different varieties in it. Nevertheless, I see that those who have used it are very happy with it.

I thought the Baron was looking for an alternative to Galaxy. I tried Galaxy on the recommendation that it was like Citra, but with less "BO" in it. I was very happy with it- it's a lovely hop, lighter than Citra, though. If I didn't have a hop fridge full to bursting (due to concerns about supplies after Brexit. Hops can be silly prices, here) then I'd be looking at Centennial and the CTZ hops, which I see are still quite reasonable, while Citra seems to have rocketed as much as the other popular hops.

I see BrewUK have got Galaxy at £6.70 for 100g.

The big hoppy aipa I've got planned for next brew has a hop bill coming in at a rather silly £43.32 for a 30L batch (680g) - think I'll be using some of these more cost effective options for a few brews afterwards :laugh8:

What's the IBU's of that Dan?

It's 50 'calculated' IBUs in a 1.066 beer, but expecting a bit more from the dry hop - using more varieites than I would usually, and I might tinker with the bittering addition a bit.
Luckily I already have the Idaho7 in the freezer, and a £15 MM voucher to put towards it
acheers.

Hop price is why I've moved to this company having been a long term fan of MM.

I bought 200g of Galaxy, 200g of Amarillo and 100g of Simcoe from Brew Uk for £30 inc postage so well reasonable for the expensive end but will try some of the cheaper options as well thanks all for the advice I am sure there are some unfashionable hops out there that will give good results at a good price as advised in this thread

I've got some Galaxy bellets bought in 2017 from Crossmyloof, never opened. How long will they be okay for? I'd like to combine them with some citra for an IPA but won't bother if they have lost their punch!

Hi they will be ok you can still buy 2017 and older hops from sellers they usually are quite good if stored properly all you need to do is leave unopened until you need them and store in a fridge or freezer for longer lifespan

There was a group buy on this forum last year, I think I bought 1kg of Amarillo for about £15. They were 2 year old hops and I’ve just finished the last of them and they are still good.

It’s a PITA for whoever is organising it all but it would be awesome to get something similar but with 4 or 5 variety’s and stock the freezer right up.
