I have 200g of these hops in the freezer, I’m probably going to chuck them all into a smash beer, should get a good hop profile from that

I gave some Californian Common Croosmyloof yeast to an American friend of mine, great brewer and has done exceptionally well in the comps. He has given me in return his Steam Ale using Huell Melon hops and it was a beer of inspiration to brew.

This is interesting, I also have some MJ California Common yeast. I brewed an Anchor Steam type beer which came out well and I saved the yeast, wondering what to do next with it and you've got me thinking. Do you have the recipe by any chance?

I will ask him for the recipe, I was just going to go with the Anchor steam ale and switch the hops, but I know he is a fan of Pilsner malt so it will be worth while checking if he used any in his steam ale.

Thanks for sharing! It looks simple yet very effective.

I used up all my Hüll Melon as above, but ordered a pkt of Hallertauer Blanc at the same time. Can't remember what I had in mind at the time, but Foxy's recipe looks good so I'll get them used before they go off.

I adore Hallertau Blanc. Great hop.

I just posted a thread the other day asking about hops for an american wheat as I was considering these hops or citra. When you going to be brewing this?

An update: last week I brewed a NEIPA with this recipe:

4kg pale malt
900g wheat
450g flaked barley

Summit 10g @ 15 min
Cascade 10g @15 min
Huel 10g @ 15 min

Summit 50g @ FO
cascade 50g @ FO
Huel 100g @FO

Summit 50g @ DH
cascade 50g @ DH
Huel 100g @DH

Stil in the fermenter but after trying some there is a melon flavour in the background somewhere, so far it's really nice. I have plenty of Huel left over too, will probably make that california common.
