Personally recommend the SS Brewbucket.

I use the mini but the full size one will no doubt be great. The other option is anvil

Have been using the SS brew bucket for 8 or so batches, it is fantastic, a very good seal, and extremely easy when it is cleaning time, me personally will never go back to plastic. the racking arm is perfect when transferring, they do cost about £160 If I remember correctly, pricey but a great piece of kit.

Anyone got a 25 - 30L one they'd recommend which doesn't cost the earth?

I wouldn't bother with the SS bit and get a Fermentasaurus if you really want a conical and all the benefits that come with it. Especially considering the V2 is coming out very soon i recon in a few months you will be able to pick up new or second hand ones for £70 or less.

You live a bargain you know you do!!!

I have the mangrove jack ss fermenter. I think it was around £130. I really like it, it holds 30L, good features include solid ss handles for carrying, an airtight lid with four clamps, the tap is easily taken apart for cleaning and I can push tubing up into to for kegging. It also has pressed markings on the inside for volume.

Only snag is the tap is fitted a couple of inches above the bottom leaving around 3L of dead space, so I end up tilting it when kegging. Great if your not fussy about losses and want to avoid drawing any sediment through it.

It's a real pity it's only 13L... Looking at the SS brewbuckets, there's no chance they'd fit in my fridge!

Nice one David cheers, I'm guessing you have yours in a tall fridge bud?

As a Jock, of course! The issue with a large conical like that is my current fridges will be way too small. Any excuse to upgrade I guess!

Thanks!

Any idea of the overall height with a typical airlock pal?

I have 2 SS brewbuckets and both used in undercounter fridges. One of the fridges needed a small wooden stand to raise it enough above the compressor hump but still fits in. I bought a blowoff adapter https://www.ssbrewtech.com/products/blow-off-barb-for-ftss-lids which works great.
I just watched a couple of reviews and they're actually a lot smaller than they look on the SS website.

Might have to wait until birthday/Christmas time as they're certainly not cheap!

Would appreciate that bud, thanks very much!
