hopefully this is the start of a new hobby and a better understanding of my favourite beverage

Good morning. Hope you dragged yourself out of the pit to get a brew started, otherwise best roll over and wait for spring.

And cheers for the welcome.

I woke my mrs with my IBS and paid the price.

Joking aside for me it's work we have a big weekend here called the Dickensien festival and the town needs a fair bit of work before the visitors start to roll in.

I’m 40 ish and I started on real ale and stout when I was 28. I love all of it, that’s my problem or good fortune, how ever you see it :D

I was always a cask guy, good standard bitter like banks’s etc. Then I got a love for decent mild like Sarah Hughes. Then these hoppy golden beers and ipas started to enlighten me. Then about 3 years ago I saw these colourful ultra hoppy and citrusy keg beers arrive. At first I turned my nose up at these hipster idiots as I then thought. Sure enough I started to drink them and I was very quickly hooked ! Now I seek them out at every opportunity :D I love the Gose and sours with lactose and the very citrus ipas etc

but realistically I’m not looking at brewing the sours etc as I’m sure that’s for the very experienced AG boys , just a nice citrusy ipa like an Oakham ales Citra or something :)

Mangrove jacks do a sour kit which is on my list. They do a great grapefruit ipa kit as well. I have also tweaked a Coopers pale ale 1 can kit with 300gms of hops which is drinking too well at the moment. In fact just had one with my pizza for lunch !

Just had a look at that mangrove sour and it’s a lemon one. Probably not by thing as I had the black sheep lemoncello the other week from Tesco and I poured it away after 1/4 can

But the black sheep pineapple milkshake ipa is probably one of my favourite tipples :D
