Don't think I've had a smoked lager before. The smokiness is surprisingly intense for such a pale beer but it's quite good. Couldn't drink a gallon of it though.View attachment 21850
Not sure on these beers. Always worth trying new things , but you know! I have a blueberry gose with borage flowers in the fridge & I am psyching myself up to try it tonight. A collaboration with left handed giant & alesong 6.2%. Wtf is it it going to do to me ? Will I end up wearing hessian shirts & thrashing myself with birch twigs whilst living in a stick hut carved into the chalk hills made with my own bare hands. Where will this nonsense end or send us. Oblivion I tell you ! Repent you beer experimentalists. Photo to follow btw.ashock1

I've got a northern monk neapolitan beer ,with strawberry chocolate and vanilla, in the fridge that I can't bring myself to open

I forgot just how good this 11% quad is. I wonder what yeast strain Halve Maan use for this, there's actually a lot of similarities to a Rochefort 10
Now we're talking. Sounds good. I just saw a few of the Rocheforts at the beer store. I was tempted. The price for a bottle is out the roof, unfortunately, and so high that I would want to split the bottle amongst good friends and sip it for an hour. That's not exactly how I approach beer though.

Better than I thought it would be. The strawberry comes through well but it's a bit too sweet for my liking :confused:

It’s actually genuinely a symptom of an illness I suffer from but no offence taken.
Since you're aware of this malady, wouldn't the responsible/prudent/ethical action be to eliminate situations where it is impossible for you to avoid acting on the impulse? This is a beer forum where the grammatical errors are legion. Wouldn't you want to spare others from what you admit is an illness simply out of kindness and respect for your fellow man?

How much are we talking? Over here you can get it for around 4 or 5 quid which imo is an absolute bargain for such an immensely good beer :thumba:

Going with that a quid is a pound, that would be fine. I consider the good beers well worth it since you spend more for an average beer in a restaurant.
It was something like $20 for 330ml/12oz bottle. The imports are, at least at this place, prohibitive in my opinion.
 
Drinking an American wheat beer I brewed early last month. Just hit three weeks in the bottle.

It's awfully light and a bit bland. Simply two row and white wheat malt. Cutting back the two row and adding some
light Munich would have helped.

Tonight I am drinking the Zombie Dust clone, (about the only home brew which gives me a hangover) while unboxing my Fermenter King Junior, cheapest pressure fermenting vessel on the market, about 25 GBP. Looking forward to using this mainly as a keg, as I reckon that is the only place to apply pressure.
