European royal families, historically were always interbreeding (keep the money in the family). The first world war was a war of cousins. Harry has done the unthinkable and has not only married a pleb but an Amercian pleb at that. Wallace Simpson anyone :laugh8:

The thing is she's "been there, done that" regarding husband's,maybe thought it would be nice to be a real princess but in reality it didn't turn out like that as even though the lifestyle my sound great you're a prisoner bound by protocol and expected to carry out whatever is set for you.
I bet she's had a pink fit and gone off in a strop..
It won't last long mark my words...just like his mam and his perv uncle.

So they've bu99ered off to Canada................you should see the size of sh1t I don't give !!

I suspect she hadn't fully understood, or to be more precise, they hadn't fully understood, that to a great extent the role of the Royals is a ceremonial one, and doesn't leave any room for political position taking, even ones that seem 'righteous'. Charles might be a little bit to blame here, he is convinced he will be allowed to continue to gob off about stuff once he is King - he won't (or, at least, if he does, that will be the end of the Monarchy), so it isn't surprising that his Son thought he could do the same. So what with them going hard on Green issues, they probably didn't realise that this would be frowned upon and open them up to public scrutiny / criticism. Perhaps they should have spoken to a few MP's before they started, they would have set them straight on how the press would react. She hasn't come across very well, it all seems a bit 'me me me me' with her, but who knows, perhaps that is down to slanted reporting.

The best thing now would be for them to relinquish their royal titles, so that they can't be accused of profiting from them without doing the public duty part that usually comes with it, and try and carve a life out for themselves (probably in North America, but maybe here), whilst not receiving any public money whatsoever.

I wish them luck.

I suspect an element of arrogance and entitlement may have come into play here. Having lived in a protected bubble they then go and tell people that they should be living their lives in a certain way. People definately wouldn't have liked that

I'd also suggest that although plenty of people like the royals their 'core fanbase' would be drawn from those who are right of centre, where green issues are generally regarded as a left of centre thing. So I dont think promoting green issues would have resonated that well with royalist types.

I would be surprised if that happens. I think the Royals have a sense of entitlement, and who wouldn't in their bubble. I'm sure Harry is just the same although he has projected an image of laddish being 'one of you lot' image. But if he did cut himself off I would clearly welcome it if it did, and would change my opinion of him at least. And if he did he might set a trend and a few more of them might relinquish their rights, like Princess Eugenie and Prince Edward for example. Oh hang on, I can see a pig out of the window dodging the clouds.

Yeah, the forums very own Myqul could step in down The Smoke seeing he is the Guvnor of Peckham,a pearly king and all round geezer...wallllllllop!

I see one of the Labour Party leadership candidates, Clive Lewis, is suggesting that a referendum is held on 'the future of the Royal family'.
It will take a brave politician to take that one on, as it might deliver an unexpected result like another recent referendum!
