I have a few odd bits I want use was thinking of doing the bootmakers ale but adding 1.5 light lme steeping grains crisp dextrin 175g and dry hopping with simcoe anyone see any reason why these wont go well with each other also could I swap the yeast to a mangrove jacks U.S west coast m44

I just have that other yeast sitting there and anything I've done from mangrove is always top quality

Coopers kit yeast on this bookmaker finishes nice and clean any hoppage shines through. I’m with El Tel use the kit yeast & save your m44 for a real west coast .

And I'm with @Winterbournebrewery .
Save your MJ yeast for something more special.
The way to transform a one can is to refresh and add to the hops in the can and use steeping grains or better still a partial mash as you are already considering. By comparison changing the kit yeast will not add the same level of value.
And fyi Coopers yeasts are not 'one size fits all'. They are grouped according to style and class. And whether its true or not I did read somewhere sometime ago that the yeast supplied with the Bootmaker, Family Secret and BrewIPA kits is in fact likely to be Danstar BRY-97 yeast, which is apparently an American 'West Coast' ale yeast.

Thanks for replys so looks like I'm good to go and I'll stick with kit yeast
