Well...I did say regarding smell ..except for bacon...then I remembered that you are vegetarian so I deleted it...

In Saudi Arabia (where obviously you can't buy bacon or any other pork products) I worked with an African American who was forever complaining that he couldn't get any "soul food".

After hearing his complaint for the nth time I asked him what "soul food" was and apparently it's "All those things from a pig that white folks don't eat." so I explained all the things that my Mum used to drop on the table for us to eat. e.g. tripe, beasts heart, cows udder, pigs trotters, sheeps brains etc.

When I finished, all he could say was "I wouldn't give that stuff to ma dawg."

I think its quite a good idea. Low/no alcohol brews come up on the forum every now and then. Making the hop water then maybe cold steeping grain for a bit of malt flavour (or other way around) could work for those awful times where we can't have our own brews and need to drive.
