What CO2 pressure for lager in a corny keg

Hello fellow brewers,

What psi should I set my regulator on for CO2 to force carbonate (not adding sugar after fermentation) my lager after I add it to a corny keg. I like my lager quiet fizzy. I had it at around 10psi for about 2hrs but it still came out quiet flat.

2 hours? I have mine at about 18psi at 6C for 3 weeks after kegging.

Our regulator gauges are notoriously inaccurate particularly at the low end of their range so you probably can't directly compare mine to yours but it should be quite close.

As Foxbat says you should have it higher than 10psi as that is more like a serving pressure than a carbing pressure.I like to leave my Lagers to condition and clear for at least 2 weeks if not longer and do mine at around 25c but do not leave the gas on it like some, I pressure it disconnect then do this at least twice a day for probably a week and then leave to condition. The only way to get it carbed quicker is to force carbonation of which if you search the forum there will be loads of advice on how to do it

Have you balanced your beer lines or got a long run of 3/16" between the keg and the tap? Just want you to be able to enjoy a perfect pint in a couple of weeks and not a glass of foam.

I think I have. I have a long run (around 1.5m) of 3/16” beer line from my keg to tap. If it is too foamy I will shorten it by 30cm at a time until I get the right balance.

I think it is the other way around the longer the 3/16th the less foam if you shorten it the foam will increase just see how you go. You may have to shorten it if you are getting a slow poor
