I think it’s about right, you can definitely taste it and I think that’s all you want. You could probably get away with another cardamom pod if you wanted to but any more and the subtle flavour would start to become too dominant in my view.

It’s only been conditioning for two weeks so I expect the flavours to change over the next few weeks. I had planned to send you some but that plan is messed up now so I’ll just have to drink it all myself and report back ;)

Yes it was just right for me but interested to hear another opinion. Another pod would be 33% extra and I think it would be too much.

No worries, I’ve built up a bit of stock over the last couple of months so got plenty to be getting on with. athumb..

Drinking Carling tonight as that's the only beer I can decant due to my Party Star Deluxe tap leaking, unfortunately I have 3 x 5L kegs of APA ready to drink.

I’m from Derry mate but living in carndonagh Donegal. I’ve had many of a pint of scraggy in a northbound glass that’s why it got my interest.
Kinnegar is the best local beer. Rustbucket is probably my favourite. I have tried a few times to brew it but never got close to it. The younger brother runs the taphouse in Derry. They get some nice beers in. That's where I stole the glass 😂

having a pint of my chocolate brown ale in the shed bar

My beer stock is getting murdered I can't keep up. Just had a look I am down to coconut porter and a dark ale.
I have two German wheat beers in the fermentor. Looks like the gin from Christmas could be getting a touch later. 😬

dont even go there , i just finished a keg of dipa my brown ale is half empty and ive an english ipa ready to be keged and a mad cow stout to brew and ive nearly run out of co2 ! sodastream bottle is ready to kick. nightmare is nowhere open to get one

I've got 2 one-litre bottle of this "Beast of a Midlands Mild" from (I think) one of the CAMRA books. I also think it was supposed to have had a stick of vanilla in it. What a waste of vanilla- certainly didn't! The beer's
just right for a warm spring evening.

The mad cow stout sounds good I bottled an imperial stout during the week. It came in at 8.2%. I need to get the finger out and start kegging

Fullers London Porter Clone (5.6%) Ive being drinking a lot of pale ales and bitters latelyso it was nice to drink something a bit darker and with a bit of body. Beer itself probably needs a couple more weeks to really come to the fore however this beer has no,off flavours is smooth, the chocolate and brown, malt, are, showing in the flavour. As is often the case I’m not sure how close it is to the original and at the moment it’s not realistic to go out and get a bottle for comparison so will just sat it’s a nice beer and can happily see myself drunk the remaining 17 bottles in short order,

I like London Porter, often buy one or two in addition to some Millionaires stout. The stout is really nice but also very sweet, the porter is a nice relief in between.

Ruddy heck Dutto you need locking up! Your greatest enemy so soon with the new hip is dislocation...as the muscles they cut through need time to heal and hold it secure. Over time this risk will deminish but you should still be aware of low seats and goose stepping.
Yours will be cemented in,mine is just hammered in and was left to "bone grab" as I had 6 weeks non weight bearing on it,incase it needs to come out again.
So...open ya eyes!!

Have to agree it would be a nice beer after something sweeter, normally I go for a sour after drinking a milk stout or similar, both beers that I have yet to attempt myself, but enjoy the commercial ones.
