Local homebrew store opened back up today so just picked this porter up with extra malt to make it a little stronger, want to do a peanut butter porter but not sure how I'd get the flavour...

Good choice I did that one straight with no additions about a year ago, it’s one of the best kit brews I ever made.

I‘ve just finished brewing for the day so am having a pint of my Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild Clone, after four weeks in the bottle it’s really hit it’s stride. Rich and malty, at 5.4% it’s a little lower than it was supposed to be, but still happy with it.

I tried a bottle of it a few weeks ago, and am now reminded why it’s generally a good idea to condition for a few weeks as it is significantly improved on the initial sample.

testing out my hoppy marzen

delicious and belma is strawberries galore.

Drinking a Belgian pale ale with Brett from @strange-steve. What a beautiful deep orange colour and a nice white head that stuck around well. The Brett is expressing itself as a slightly tart fruitiness which is great. Really interested to see if it gets funkier in the second bottle which I will age for a while. Carb level is right on, nice and high which is right for the style. A comparison with Orval is inevitable, I think this is definitely on a par with some bottles I’ve had. It might be a little sweeter, I’m not sure if that’s the Brett or a little bit of caramel from the malt. A lovely beer as always, thanks Steve. Looking forward to the second bottle in a few months (I have to wait that long really don’t I?!)

My daughter decided to wake me at 6.30 and we are still on the sofa watching pepper pig, don't think I will be moving soon.
@Leon103 and @dan125 a great beer chat night. Lots of great ideas and knowledge shared. And leon is right it did get a bit messy in the end. My head was less than perfect this morning. But thankfully it was part sorted by a good fry up this morning.

Glad you liked the beers chaps.

SWMBO went shopping today for the first time in 5 weeks and came back with a selection of beers (she got the groceries too) so I first had an Abbots IPA then a Shipyard APA, Adnams Ghost Ship IPA, another Shipyard a Simcoe APA (homebrew), Ditto, Ditto and finishing of with a Carlsberg pilsner to remind me that I should have got of my fat hairy ar5e and got another homebrew (don't judge folks).

I'm on the (ever diminishing) BenRomach single malt now. Reminds me of home even if it was mothballed when I was growing up there.
Need to stock up which is hard when you do your shopping in scotland at 8am.
