Boil started, so a celebration :confused.:

Pre boil volume and gravity exactly as planned so that must deserve a beer.

Same cap on one of bottles tonight. An octogenarian friend dropped off one of his favourite beers to celebrate his birthday. This guy is a legend. He was out running 6 miles this afternoon!

First time I've had this one. Strikes a great balance between malt and grassy and earthy hops (Mittelfruh & Saaz?) with peppery spice.

Among the warm up act was my Tribute Tribute. Finished with a GH Kölsch to compare with the Edelstof Helles. Kölsch was much more floral and simpler malt.

Amarillo is a really flavoursome hop, you only need half of what you think. It does fade but takes a long time. If you can give it another month the beers might have mellowed a little.

It's mellowed already. After three weeks in the bottle it was not enjoyable to drink. It's a lot better now. Just wish it hadn't overshadowed the grain flavor.

My st.peters ruby red ale,my reward for bottling my coopers irish stout, still not completely satisfied with the ruby red it's got a twang about it I'm not sure about.
