Cheers. I'm afraid it's wrong, in one aspect - there is no wheat in the original. The ingredients are listed in San Smith's website as barley only, no sugars either, which surprised me.
Have you got their original recipe! Love to see it.

Alas, no. I've been searching for ages, but all the recipes I can find have wheat in them. The ingredients listed on their website simply say 'Ingredients • Water, malted barley, yeast, hops.' No suggestion as to what the hops might be unfortunately.

I think the wheat addition is for head retention and clarity, I have brewed quite a few beers from BYO and they have been pretty close. I will be brewing it shortly and can still buy Samuel Smiths India Ale here, so I will compare the genuine and the clone.

Couple bottles of landlord and then on to a couple old speckled hen,my treat for finally bottling the woodfordes bure gold

Been jet washing the paving today so I also deserve a treat 😉

Actually, I’m about to keg my latest Citra Pale Ale and finishing the last pint of my Best Bitter to free up the keg.

This is the cardomom Saison off Hazelwood Brewery.
It's got a bit of chill haze and is way too cold...oops! I shall leave it a bit...
Initially...even though the pet bottle was hard,it's got a low carb..
As it warms there's peppery, subtle spice aroma...the cardomom isn't there to start but then appears and seems to leave that familiar flavour...aromatic, almost cold,medicinal..minty...but no way over powering...just there...you need to drink a little bit more...which works nicely with the dryness...
Colour...nice,pale..and clear now it's warmed...oh that cardomom is subtle...like a well done basmati rice!!
As a spice lover and regular user of cardomom I wanted and expected CARDOMOM!!! in buckets...but that would not have been right...
It's different but right up my street!! And definitely on the brew list!!
Cheers H.

Think I’ll join you - Saison!

It is subtle but for my money it’s about right. When you brew your own batch you can always add an extra pod. It will taste really quite medicinal if you take it much further though. Cheers!

Carbonation test of a bitter I brewed ten days ago and packaged five days ago. Allready clearer than a golden ale I made with k97 after 6 weeks :laugh8: this one used windsor for flavour and us05 for attenuation. Will be a really good beer in another week I think!

Looking good!

I've been eyeing up my bitter that I bottled on Saturday. Patience! I'll give it another week and crack one open on my birthday (amongst others).
