I take it you mean just the pomegranate ?
 
Under UK law, a juice drink must contain at least 5% fruit juice; Whereas 'juice' must contain at least 96% juice if the other 4% is sugar and nothing else. If it has no added sugar it must be 100% undiluted juice although it can be from concentrate.

I didn't take my glasses to the supermarket but asked a mates Mrs (he couldn't see either lol)
And she read no additives haha.

I will try the red grape with the summer fruits.
Not sure of the chemistry as regards to killing the yeast through additives like you say, but I'll use a crossmyloof all purpose as these seem hardy and as an experiment.

I mixed up a turbo cider last weekend i think it was and poured hot water by mistake to wash yeast into demijohn, (pished) 🙄😁
I thought I might of killed the yeast as it took a couple of days to get going but picked up, got steady and now going like a train 🙂

After a slow start the red grape juice and summer fruits wine is bubbling away nicely 😁
The cider i got going (both with crossmyloof yeast) is up in the airlock, changed that today.
The contents is way down from the neck in the demijohn 😳
 
Years ago I made some elderberry wine as per Mr CJ Berry! It has nice flavour but is really sickly sweet! Am now making nice supermarket wine! My question is"could I add a bottle of the elderberry to a fermenting supermarket wine to use up the sugar in elderberry"?

there's only one way to find out! (not entirely true but that's what i'd do)
 
Is it too cold to make wine? Even in kitchen is max 20 degrees :) ... in laws have run out of rose :)
 
20 will be fine. You could put a blanket around the container and the fermentation itself will warm it up.

i'm employing the bubble wrap system right now and have for the last few wine brews. they don't enjoy the heatpad warmth that the beer does.
have actually converted two non-brewers to SJW also.
 
I hoped that I would have brewed enough during summer months :) but I have now only country wines left ageing in bottles and demis (and don’t want to touch those till next year) so I do have to start with some wows again :) glad to hear bubble wrap method works. 👍🏻👍🏻
 
Kelper has nailed it, my kitchen gets down to 15c at night in winter and my wines have always finished when wrapped in a big towel folded over a couple of times, I now have a heat pad and wouldn't be without it.
 
I have 2 x 1ltr of red grape juice and a few 1.5ltr apple juices.
I was thinking of getting one or two wines on the go today and was wondering what the wine is like from 1ltr grape and 1.5ltr apple please ?
 
@Nidger - This is a forum favourite we made many gallons of the stuff and never tired of it.


Rosé wine

1 litre Red grape juice.

1.5 litre Apple Juice.

750g Sugar.

1 tsp Tannin or a mug of very strong black tea. (3 bags stirred every couple of minutes as you put the rest of the ingredients together)

1 tsp Yeast (i use youngs super wine yeast compound)

1 tsp Yeast Nutrient.

1 tsp Pectolase.

1 tsp Glycerine. (optional)

1 tsp citric acid or juice of one lemon. (optional)
