Went in my local home brew shop today, now every home brew shop sells FWK's. Can't understand why it hasn't caught on over in the UK.
17 litre cubes, pour into fermenter add water and yeast and ferment.

Or the bag in a box FWK's.

What’s the shelf life of these kits? With home brewing being much more of a niche hobby in the U.K. compared to Australia you can end up with kits sitting on shelves for months.

Wouldn't you also get around the production of alcohol legal requirements?
Yes, no licence required as its not alcohol.

They put a shelf life of one year, stored in the dark and under 20 C will last longer.
Is this similar to kit brewing. Concentrated wort that you dilute with water.
Not a concentrate, some are a potential higher ABV so you can add extra water.
Good idea but it takes all the joy out of the hobby, and its not your own creation
They aren't sold as a replacement to brewing your own, just a stop gap for those time poor and wanting to get something in the fermenter.
Either is kit beer. It's the same idea. Kit beers seem popular, I am sure if you wanted you could modify with hop tea or a short steep with speciality grains.
Yes a lot of folk dry hop these, I haven't fermented one for a few years now but they are top quality. Not really any need to add anything other than hops if required and yeast.
