Let's see how this goes. inspired by OB's recent thread how about an ongoing quiz thread.? Rules are straightforward:
  1. a question is posted
  2. absolutely no googling or other search engines as that ruins it - you cant cheat yourself
  3. whoever gets the question right posts the next question
I used to participate in something similar on a quiz machine forum in days when there was serious ££££ to be made from trawling round pubs and it ran for years.

I'll start:

Which are the only two countries in the world that are double landlocked (that is they are themselves completely bordered by other landlocked countries)?

Bear in mind that the Caspian Sea is actually a lake

I thought one was Kazakhstan, until I realised that had a border with Russia. I'm sure it is one of the 'stans though.

In the interest of momentum Im giving it to @MmmBeer - its Uzbekistan. Over to you for the next question sir

Which long running series of car adverts was inspired by a scene in a porn movie, where a father bumps into his daughter in a brothel?

Well the only one I can think of is the Renault ones with Papa? Nicole!

Spot on, first time. Maybe I should have tried a more difficult one.

Never heard that fact and having just wikkid it nothing on there either - any idea what the film was caled, asking for a friend. Anyway next question:

What is measured by reference to the Mohs scale?

I knew my geology gcse would come in useful one day!

An easy one from me cos I'm rubbish at this sort of thing:

Which is the only letter of the alphabet not found on the periodic table?

Initially I thought Norway, but I've got a nagging feeling its Denmark.

The A1 is the longest road in Great Britain, but which is the second longest? Its also an 'A' road.
