Trying out the West Coast IPA I brewed for the January comp. It's pretty delicious, fruity and piney. Wish the aroma was a bit stronger and the malt is really shining. I might call this one a Midwestern IPA, reminds me a lot of 2 hearted ale. Or maybe a little stronger Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Alright this one is overdue.

@pilgrimhudd Wheal Rose Weizenbock.

Pours a beautiful deep amber brown. A slight bit of haze might be chill haze. Looks great.
Aroma is a nice candied malt with some banana esters and a hint of alcohol.
Flavour is sweet malt up front, settles into a nice caramel malt with a bit of the wheat citrus I usually get from wheat beers and then there is a little bitterness and a very nice banana flavour lingers for a while.
This is the second bottle I have had of this weizenbock and I am glad I let this one sit and age for a bit. The flavours are much more pronounced now. It's very easy drinking and delicious. Light on the palate which is very fitting for the style, it's also not too heavy on the alcohol but still full of flavour. Very nice job pilgrimhudd! And thanks for sending this one to me!

THREE DIY PROJECTS?
You deserve the forum medal. Have we got a forum medal?
I think we should have one...
I should've said 'small' DIY projects. Leaky sink, window sealing and some flat pack assembly. Still warrants a beer!

And what a beer this is

My 8.1% weizenbock ice distilled from 400ml to 160-170ml. If you don't count the losses thats around 19-20%! I estimate I got around 16% from the taste though. Rich boozy fruitcake and banana bread flavours with a thick syrupy mouthfeel. Absolutely gorgeous. I think I prefer it to the original weizenbock so I may have to turn them all into eisbock.
