For my home made beer engine I used a tap aerator like this.

But with a gravity fed system, I would be asking if it is any benefit as the beer has to be forced through under pressure.

Yeah have seen that one while searching about today. Think is both that and the Rocket pump are pretty pricey for what they are, and for that price (£60ish delivered) you could get a second hand old school beer engine which kinda defeats the point in building it yourself.

I am thinking unless a cheaper option comes up, I'm gonna go super basic and throw a sparkler onto the end of this bad boy:
