    Trump v Biden

Yes, it’s a chosen tacit of Trump apologists. Dumping on the accuser of one alleged crime takes the focus off other more obvious stuff. Like, for example, raw dogging a porn star then bribing her. Telling over 30,000 lies during his presidency*. Inciting the Jan 6th riot**. *Proven-Washinton...

March Brew and Swap - Scottish 80/-

My first swap beer, from @Twostage. Great pour; good clarity, medium to high carbonation, nice long lasting tight head and a lovely deep copper colour. The aroma is malty, toasted white bread and a hint of caramel. The flavour follows with dark caramel and raisin highlights. It’s got a great...

    What are you drinking 2024.

So far this week I’ve had Negroni’s in Lucky Cat in Mayfair and Glovers Alley in Dublin. Now it’s time for one at home. Cheers everybody ✌️

    Sterilizing

No. But I’m not worried about propagating a wild yeast cell over the following two weeks and spoiling the food I’m about to consume in the next 15 minutes.

    Sterilizing

Only relevant if you’re cleaning stainless, and share my hygiene OCD 🤣 I edited my last post for context while you were replying-sorry!

    Sterilizing

It probably is, and I’ve been using it in the kegs for ever. TSP was recommended when I bought the Brewbucket, it’s cheap as chips on eBay and I’ve stuck with that ever since. They advised that you stay away from chlorine back then. I’m talking cleaning here. For sanitation, Starsan degrades...

    Sterilizing

I’m a Starsan fan. I’m also obsessive about cleaning. Everything gets a thorough clean when packing up, and then again, during the brewday. I’d be surprised if any bugs survive til Starsan time. I ferment in SSBrewtec kit so chlorinated sanitation is a no no.

March Brew and Swap - Scottish 80/-

Cheers @Twostage, glad you liked it. I have been enjoying it too and I agree with all your points. It was fined with gelatin in keg a couple of weeks ago and it has cleared up significantly. I reckon it's still got a bit of conditioning to do, head retention has been on the up since kegging and...

@pilgrimhudd Your beers landed yesterday while I was in London. I’m a little off-colour after the Lager comp, so I’ll probably leave them til Thursday. Must have a been a dodgy pint somewhere in the mix🤔

    Lager Than Life 2024

Low 30’s for my anaemic Dunkel, would have got high 30’s if entered as a generic Amber according to the guys on the ground. Top day out, and hats off to the LAB guys. And a Belfast boy won, congrats!!

    Lager Than Life 2024

Looking forward to the day. My Munich dunkle is too pale so won’t score well. But it tastes great so I’m not worried. Expecting a sub-30 score due to the colour.

    What are you drinking 2024.

I’m toasting the end of almost 30 years in the NHS. I enjoyed all of the clinical time over 3 decades. But I’m enjoying this Negroni a whole lot more.
