Afternoon all, I've got a 37 litre mango chutney barrel with precut 38mm holes for elements and a 45+l barrel currently fitted with 2 working kettle elements incl leads that I want rid of out of the garage.
Free to collect as otherwise they are off in the skip.
Cheers!
Morning all,
I've just made my boiler out of a mango chutney barrel that holds 36 litres to the brim.
Has anyone got a recipe I could use to get the first BIAB under my belt? I'm thinking about an Autumny ale, so something like Badgers fursty ferret?
Thanks in advance!
Afternoon all,
I normally use cheapo supermarket water for brewing but i think ill start using treated tap water.
Is there any specific treatments that you add to your water? A mate that has a local brewery sends water samples off so that he can 'Burtonise' his water but I think that may...
Afternoon,
I want to get into all-grain brewing after doing a fair few kits and I've got a couple of questions to ask as I couldn't find a definitive answer from the web:
Im guessing that BIAB has a time advantage over 3 vessels?
Is it worth getting a 40l boiler to end up with approx...
Evening all,
I've searched for Prosecco type recipes and there seems to be plenty with plenty of mixed reviews, can anyone recommend a recipe that kind of resembles prosecco?
Thanks!

We'll I primed it with golden caster sugar but I don't think I mixed the malt enough right back at the start as I've just had a bottle and by heck it's got a bitter aftertaste! Fingers crossed it improves with age!
Evening, I've currently got a Wilkos golden ale and 500g light dme bubbling away. What's best to get a clear beer? Crash cooling, finings or racking in a bottling bucket/fv before bottling?
Thanks!
Evening all,
I'm about to bottle a Norfolk Nog, has anyone got any recommendations as to what primer to use? Spray malt, brown sugar or just plain old granulated sugar?
Once I can find a fridge Im going to start a Nog kit. Are there any tips to improve the brew? I've got some Gervin yeast and was planning on bottling it and batch priming possibly using spray malt instead of just sugar.
Can anyone recommend any other improvements?
Thanks!
Evening all, Im just about to start a Nog kit and ive got a couple of questions....
Is it worth changing the yeast that comes with the kit?
Is it best to batch prime if im bottling?
Thanks and sorry for the noobie questions!
