    Master malt

I might just have to bite the bullet and see what happens. I’m not equipped to boil hops etc, but if I added the said malt to a kit, it should at least be drinkable with a bit of luck. It’s a very pale ale malt, so if I add it to a pale ale kit it should turn out fine. In for a penny. Thanks for...

    Master malt

I recently bought a Morgan’s Master malt thinking it was a kit. I was advised by B2B that it wasn’t a kit but something you add to a brew. So not ever used or added such a malt, to any brew I’ve made, do I use the whole tin with a kit, to make like a two tin brew, or just some of it, and do I...

    Morgans Beer Kits

I bought several Morgan kits as the B2B offer was good. I like pale ales and the Blonde and Gold variant of their kits turned out the best. I wasn’t so impressed with their Australian bitter, not quite my taste.

    Time to destroy the stash

All that bottling must be time consuming, and storage space to keep the bottles at a premium. I barrel mine in 40 pint top tap barrels, it’s easy to rack the fermented beer into a barrel, gravity does that, then when the barrel is set in position just a time lapse for clearing. It’s own...

Is household bleach safe to use in sterilizing our equipment. It’s claimed that bleach kills all known germs.

Oh very funny, it was a serious question.

    Head retention.

My barreled beer forms a nice head immediately after pouring, but very soon disappears before the last drop from the glass is drunk. Is there something that I can add to my kit brews to help retain a nice beer hugging glass froth. When I drink beer bought in a pub, the head clings to the glass...

    Finings

Tell me how the gelatins is administered. I’ve never used this, and have no idea what it looks like, and where to buy it from. I rack my beer into a top tap barrel. Do I put the gelatin in at this stage, and how much do I need.

    Finings

I don’t think it’s a new product, probably been around for years, but it’s new to me.

    Finings

Suddenly without warning, Isinglass became unobtainable. Now I have always used Isinglass, and kept a small stock, but as Covid19 took over my stocks dwindled, and low and behold when I tried to order more it was not available, for whatever reason. So, an alternative product was now the only way...
