Down to 10. That's a drop in 4psi in 24 hours. Must be a leak somewhere. Wish I knew what I was doing wrong! Or even what to try next...
I didn't quite understand what @Gerryjo meant with the food waste bag. How do you plug the output? I can't quite see what you are pressuring to 5psi if there's...
Kegged my 9L(ish) on Sunday (not happy with the taste but more on that here: Boom's second brew (first posted brew)
I put a bit of petroleum jelly on the O rings this time.
Noticed a small drop in pressure tonight (Monday) but I forgot what exact pressure it was set to (doh!). I've put it up to...
So after dry hopping for 5 days with a ridiculous amount of tea strainers (they were smaller than i realised!) I measured the FG at 1.012 (OG 1.062), kegged it and force carbed for a few days.
First pour had a very strong metallic taste that made it undrinkable. I did some reasearch and left it...
Sorry @thejackat but I have no idea where the kegs are most likely to be leaking from. I've only kegged once in them and did not do a leak test in a bucket of water or anything like that for fear of wasting beer or CO2.
I'm kegging tomorrow so was wondering where everyone suggested vaselining...
Brewing today to go in the 5l kegs after FV. I plan to lube up with vaseline this time. I'll let you know how it goes. Maybe @Gareth Davies has some top tips to offer us?
I've just started force carbing with my dark farm 5l and after setting to 15psi and turning the gas off it drops to about 5psi overnight too. Im just using the cartridges. I put it back up to 15psi and its drops again, not quite as far, overnight. I've done this 3 times now but assumed the drop...
Second kit, this time just ingredients 9L NEIPA all grain ingredients beer brew kit.
Any feedback/advice welcome!
The mash: just got some stock pots on an induction hob. No issues getting to temperature but maintaining it is a challenge.
The sparge: I used a brew bag as my sieve isn't big...
Thanks Wolf! Spent a while researching which mini kegs to go for. This forum sold dark farm for me! Lots of great feedback.
I still can't decide about the disconnect system. Does it have any benefits other than being able to transfer beer anaerobically?
Also, does anyone have any advice on whether to get the all in one or the disconnect system? I'm very new to brewing but can see myself really getting into this so thinking the extra cost could be worth it long term...
