morning all,
just wondering if there's any one from or close to the Teesside area who would possibly try one of my brews there's a weird twang to it which is also in my second brew ones a festival NZ pilsner kit ones a young's golden ale kit but i dont know any home brewers to turn too.

Iv had my brew in fermenter for 16 days 14 for fermentation an 2 days with the hop pellets in..... now iv been told by different people 2 different times to cold crash.... the hop pellets didnt come with a bag and the instructions said to sprinkle them so i was told to cold crash the full...
Hi all been reading up on using old shop bought 5L kegs to use instead of bottles..... i will be looking at using a deluxe star tap on top.... my question is can any one give a step by step guide on how to do this or a video of it been done ???
has any one fitted any thing like this to the back of their tap in the fermenter....would it work ??? Any other filter ideas with out having to transfer to another vessel ??
Iv just started a festival pilsner, im planning on leaving it till its finished fermenting to put the hops in instead of 5 days like the instruction says, has any one got any info on how long i should leave the hops in before i cold crash it ??? TIA
I have the same problem but i have an immersion heater and where the wire comes out the bung its not sealed and has gap's. I did a gravity reading tonight its only been in since Sunday and the gravity was 1022 from 1050 so its working had a taste of the sample i used and it left a bitter after...
So i started my brew on Sunday and just did a gravity test it ended up on about 1.022 so before i tipped the sample i decided to have a taste and it left a quite a bitter after taste is this normal ? If so how long should it stay like that or will the hops kill the bitterness just for info its...
Im going to check it soon but i dont think its coming from the seal/threads its the actuall tap now i did use the tap to take a sample for my hydrometer wonder if it could be left over product in their
So i started a brew today and have noticed a slight leak from the tap, i have the last couple of nights had water sitting in it with out any leakage but now I have my brew in it it does, iv closed the tap but not pushed it too far as in fear that could start opening it again as I work with...
So iv eventually got my brew going and just re read some of these posts espesh about the hop pellets.... my mate is doing the same batch and said hes putting his hops in on the 6th day and i think im going to wait till fermentation is finished amd then swap bottles to see the difference.... il...
