hi
currently working in seven oaks, which is definitely easier for you I’m sure. That’s weather dependent though tbh, but I’m sure we can work something out? I’ve private messaged you anyways
Hi all sorry for the late replies! I’ve had a break from brewing and not logged on for quite some time. These are still available to those that have messaged me, if you’re still interested?
many thanks
James
I usually get around 80-85 mash efficiency with my G30, and like yourself i use Brewfather. I don’t stir my mash though, once I’ve mashed in I’ll give it a little rest say 15 minutes before i start to recirculate and let it run fully open.
For a good year I always slowed the recirculating down...
I used brewfathethers yeast calculator and it was 2 packs in a 2 liter starter, it slowed down once it hit 1.20 so i kept @ 20c until i reached my target gravity of 1.014. It’s currently cold crashing ready to be kegged at the weekend hopefully.
I’ve just haven’t much success brewing any...
A bit of keg lube or Vaseline on your orings might help? Also I tend to completely strip down the disconnects and give them a thorough cleaning too from time to time.
I had the same problem with the M84 a little while back. I left it in the keg for 6 weeks before sampling, and I had that same off flavor from it! The beer dropped so clear and bright but that flavor didn’t go? After 3 months in the keg i give up and poured it down the sink. Maybe i was just...
It’s subjective really? Some will swear that cheaper chemicals will do the same job etc etc, but I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I’ve recently switched my primary brewery cleaner to a more expensive branded solution and the results are miles different. The better you clean, the...
I’m exactly the, but I’m bloody lazy! So that “pile” just keeps getting bigger 😆. But i do like what you done, once we’ve moved house I’m making sure I have my own dedicated brew space. I might have a little more enthusiasm then
I’d personally wait until your order arrives, then package. It won’t do any harm leaving it in your primary vessel, even if you don’t get a chance to package until next weekend say
Brewfather is a great tool to have. I actually find it to be more reliable than the grainfather one I used to use. It’s free, but you can pay a fee to upgrade later if you find it helps with your process.
Definitely don’t scrimp on cleaning products! Be sure to give the unit a thorough cleaning before you use it, tsp for instance as this will get rid of any machining oils left from the manufacturer. I’m not familiar with this exact machine, but brewing software will help you out with water...
Hi guys. So after a few failed attempts at lagers i lost interest in trying to brew them. But i had this itch to try another one again?
So I thought I’d try myself at a California common “ish” type of beer. I copied a recipe from john finch but scaled it up slightly to suite my laziness using...
