    Just curious as to who is pimping the one can kits with extravagant ingredients and who cant be arsed, and go for the pre packed, 2 can approach? I started on the singles (because I'm tight) but soon couldn't be bothered to even find and add the extra DME and sugar to my virtual shopping cart...

    Just an update on the espresso and lactose. I wouldn't do it again in either one. The other thing I now know is that, controversially, I prefer the Original stout to the Irish.

    Absolutely. tastes amazing too but mine was only 4.2% so I'll probably add some more sugar or treacle when I start my next one tonight.

    Stirring up sediment

    You'll need to leave it at least a week and you will need to add more sugar to prime as most of what you've added will be fermented. just do it in a secondary or in the bottle this time.

    St Peter's cream stout is the one. Waaaay better than coopers, if you like some serious depth. Coopers is a great, light session beer for any month of the year but the cream stout is much more indulgent and perfect for Christmas.
