Hi, on the third morning still no bubbles but i had a brainwave and used duct tape to seal all around the lid. Within a minute i had strong bubbles so it appears that the lid seal was no good.

Hello everyone i am new to home brewing and i have found this forum very helpful. I have started a brew of Kentish bitter from a beginners kit 2 days ago and i am waiting for the tell tale bubbles from my airlock. Fingers crossed i will be enjoying my first brew in about 2 or 3 weeks. Regards.
