What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Latest brew is based on a beer I had at the start of lockdown. Cream ale grist with Crystal hops in the boil & Sorachi Ace dry hop, coriander & orange peel fermented with German ale yeast. Crisp easy drinking beer, orange aroma, lemon orange flavour..tasty but if I brewed it again I may reduce...

Hmmm that recipe looks interesting, I might have to give that a go. Bretted Pale sounds great, my next brew I'm going to try the Orval clone recipe in 'Brew like a Monk'. Well I plan to split the batch and add the Orval dreggs to half the batch and compare the difference. Message me your address...

👍 What's the Houblon-ish? I have a few litres left of the Pale if you fancy a beer swap?

This is the recipe for this version, I have only adjusted the hops slightly and sometimes I have used the wyeast Ardennes which I believe is the same as Gnome .

I'm drinking a beer that I have been given and I have been putting off drinking..a fruited Lacto sour🤔. It is exactly what I was fearing it would be...not really sour, not really fruity. A token sour from a brewery that probably like making other styles but feel they should have a sour .

    What did you brew today?

Currently brewing a west coast style IPA with Chinook mainly in the boil, with a whirlpool of Idaho 7 & centennial and will be dry hopped with centennial and Simcoe. Using MJ New World yeast(think that's what it's called). Should be around 7%.

Interesting..not heard of a German porter. Is this a normal porter from a German brewery or is it a style?

Purging bottles with co2 prior to filling from the keg

I have a splitter too on the gas line with a picnic tap and tube to purge the bottle. Then I made the filler below with a silicone bottle cap, bung and Syphon tube. The silicone tube I fit over a picnic tap to fill on low pressure.. pushing the silicone bottle cap against the bottle does work...
