I bought one of these and use it as an HLT. It came with a bag and false bottom included so you probably could use for full BIAB process. The temperature reading is pretty accurate and this new version is double-skinned so it should maintain temp pretty well too.
One thing to note (as in the...
I saw a Youtube video where someone "bent" the freezer compartment out of the way. I'll see if I can find it.....
EDIT: Yup, found it.

It's basically the same as the Grainfather, so the mash tun is basically a basket inside the boil kettle. It's like a metal BIAB setup. I mashed (and sparged) according to the Beersmith settings in the opening post.
Yes - grain was fresh and pre-crushed by The Malt Miller.
I'm drinking my first all-grain brew "Bitter to the end". It's a lot better than I thought it was going to be when I tried it a week ago. It's not bad at all at 3 weeks old.
Grain arrived a few days ago from the Malt Miller and I adjusted Beersmith with EBC and potential SG values etc from the Malt Miller website. So I think that should have been OK.
That would make sense - yes. Then it applies your equipments estimated efficiency to calculate your OG I suppose. I'm out for the next couple of days, but after that I shall see what I can learn about how it all works.
You can set the Brewhouse efficiency, but not the Mash efficiency it seems but from what I am reading one does affect the other. I found some forum discussions on the topic which I shall have to read through - which is cool. I want to learn :)
Ha! I just opened another bottle, been in the fridge a few days and it had a head! Not for long like, it was gone in 30 seconds - but I captured the moment for posterity!
For some reason the pint is sideways, but you get the idea!
