My latest brew looks more like kombucha than beer…

I’m hoping a week of cold crashing will drop any omelette residue out of suspension so I can avoid that!

My latest brew looks more like kombucha than beer…

Correct! It’s the floating dip tube So I did indeed snap a protafloc tablet in half and whacked it in because I couldn’t be arsed to 1/4 it. Sounds like this is what has created the “omelette” it’s fermenting like the clappers now and the omelette seems to have been obliterated and is swirling...

My latest brew looks more like kombucha than beer…

So This is my first brew using whole hops (home grown) and the picture below is 24hrs post pitch (whc LAX liquid yeast) I noticed when transferring to fermenter that there was a fair bit of “scuzz” but usually this settles out fairly quickly however this time it seems to have formed solid...

I think my beer is over attenuating post dry hop..... shall I cold crash now?

Within an hour of reading this I had it closed transferred into a keg and it’s now crashing down to 3c. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! Every brew day is a school day! My copy of Scott Janish’s The New IPA book arrived today so I have plenty of reading to do

I think my beer is over attenuating post dry hop..... shall I cold crash now?

I currently have a Hazy IPA sitting in my fermzilla at 20c that hit FG 3 days ago 5 days since pitch using WHC Brexit yeast. I dry hopped and now the FG has started dropping further..... into the realms of over attenuation. It was supposed to finish at 1.014ish and now its closer to 1.011...

    Cctv cameras..

I have a battery Ring cam as it integrated with the Ring doorbell. Yes its expensive, yes you have to charge it but you can also point it at your FV and watch the ferment/temps

    Brew father

I have tried most options and find BrewFather by far the easiest to use. Plus they allow AMS and DWB additions in their water calculator *mind blown*

    Brewing Disaster.

My latest big whoopsie-daisy was forgetting to put the pump filter on in my Grainfather. "No problem" I thought, "I'll just lift the grain basket out, plonk it in a bucket, don my heat proof rubber gauntlets, pop it on and put the grain basket back in" ( I had noticed the missing filter just...

    Gas for Corny Keg.....Stupid idea?????

I certainly wouldn’t use it, no matter how small the risk “food grade” is food grade for a reason Adam’s gas are great if you are anywhere near the southeast

Just acquired more allotment space, which hops to grow along side my Chinook and Centennial?

I thought about English varieties but being in the South East I am surrounded by hop fields and at harvest I know of a farmer who sells bines for £10 each, I was thinking of doing a wet hop beer in September and also doing a trial run drying them rather than ruining my own crop first try
