Any other piscetarian brewers out there?

Hmm just a simple search of the word "Meat" in the search function would imply otherwise. There are sorts of threads about hot and cold smoking and best meats for Curry's ect athumb..

Any other piscetarian brewers out there?

Ok so not sure if this makes me a bad vegetarian. It probably does but o well. Although I don't eat meat I have no problems with beer that have gelatin finings. My logic is that if the animal was going to die for its meat anyway I would like every part of it be used and none go to waste. If...

    DHendy's Brewdays

Time for more updates athumb.. AG#2 Red Setter Irish Ale Kegged this on Friday and added some finings burst carbonated at 40 psi for 16 hours and wow did this turn in to a nice pint beautiful caramel and malt profile with a slight hit if the hop bitterness on the end . Still not 100% clear but...

    DHendy's Brewdays

Thought I would give a little update. AG#1 Fullers Discover Clone Wow well after 3 failed attempts at AG 5 years ago I finally did it. Beautifully clear after finnings with nice head retention, although it has come about a bit darker than I wanted perhaps because of the 90 minute mash but if...

    Hangover Discussion

Probably sounds silly. But I try and hydrate by drinking some water before I go to bed. Then again when I get up, then usually go for a 5k run at an above average pace followed by a cold shower, works most of the time :) Pretty sure my body hates me though....

    DHendy's Brewdays

I'm not as I had it in my head that I didn't want to disturb anything that had settled to the bottom of the kettle to try and avoid it all going to the fermenter. I do run the re-circ pump on the Brew devil while chilling though. I will try running the pump and stiring next time athumb..

    DHendy's Brewdays

Ha wish I could say I built the Ispindel they pop up every now and again pre-built on ebay for around £30-£40 which isn't much more than the cost of parts i'm led to believe. When they turn up I just calibrate them and away I go. Easiest my favourite bit of Kit right now as means I don't have to...

    DHendy's Brewdays

Thanks, that whole thing is from brewers friend though. As the software is much smarter than me. Also my mash thickness was actually 4l kg so that bit is wrong. I will update my equipment profile on brewers friend, although in future I think I might aim for around 4.25l/kg as the mash was a...

So doing a quick attenuation check here https://www.brewersfriend.com/abv-calculator/ that gives you a yeast attenuation of 64% assuming you are refering to Mangrove jacks M44 US west coast ale yeast that has an average attenuation of 78%. So i would guess this probably is a little stuck, I...

    DHendy's Brewdays

Lovely to see another bathroom brewer, although I don't have any wonderful assistants just yet. Just did my second brew in the Bathroom brew with my Brew Devil I can tell you the second goes a lot easier than the first as you know how to set everything up and where to put everything if that...

Return to the Darside. AG#1 (kindoff)

So this finished out at 1.011 and, I then cold crashed and added Kwik clear to the FV for 2 days before Kegging. It has been in the Keg since Friday and although it tastes great it is annoying cloudy even though it was crystal clear going into the Keg. Don't think it is chill haze as I cold...

Return to the Darside. AG#1 (kindoff)

So finally got time to calibrate my iSpindel last night and put it into this brew. Love it, especially with the brewers friend integration, and wow S-04 acts fast! No sign of fermentation until 3pm Sunday and as I speak its down to 1.011 already. I can’t stop looking at the graph...
