So, a lot has happened since... I've lost 3 stone and I'm not considered to be diabetic (well, I am, but in remission). Covid happened also. I rediscovered a stash of over-carbonated dark beer and IPA in the man cave from god knows when last year - we must be talking almost a year. And it is...

Since switching to Linux, DuckDuckGo & ProtonMail, I'm finding things 'quieter'.

Learning day by day. Sugar has been relatively straightforward. I don't do desserts (maybe the odd well chosen yoghurt. I'm averaging about 1800 cals a day, sometimes less. I'm contemplating skipping lunch on Mons and Thurs to give me 2 x 600/700 cal days a week. I've stripped out a lot...

T2 I'm aiming to do just that. I've shrugged off 23 lbs in about 2 months, following a fairly rigid diet. I think I'm halfway to where I want to get to in terms of the weight loss, but now need to improve my fitness (and hopefully my glucose stats).

    Veganuary.

No, but the "pc gone mad" brigade equate things on a very simplistic level.

Further to this thread, I've recently been diagnosed as diabetic......so I'm afraid that beer is a long way down on my priorities (both drinking it and brewing it). Likely I'll sell my gear, because I don't think I could stand to brew it and not 'ave it.

Anthony Joshua victory over Andy Ruiz.

Sluggers always have a chance, I suppose, but history sorts it all out in the end.

    so who gets gout..

I get the existential inevitability of death. I don't suppose avoiding warnings would be much comfort to the family if I did peg it early. I dunno tho

Anthony Joshua victory over Andy Ruiz.

Very careful, judged, and limited performance against an unfit, unready and unprofessional opponent. Hardly the stuff of legend, and if he thinks this puts him on any pedestals with the greats, he needs to give his head a shake. If he does the same with leading contenders, then I'll give him...

    so who gets gout..

If I eat stuff to reduce my cholesterol it risks aggravating my gout. (Almost) everything in moderation then. My best mate almost died a few weeks ago from a massive heart attack. I've been having chest pains, which have been checked out and not thought to be heart related. Time to...

What to do about false bad tripadvisor review

I'd have gone with a lighter touch response - a la strange steve - but that's easy for me to say. I do know that when you're in the eye of the storm it is difficult to maintain perspective. That's not a criticism. I imagine that when you have as much skin in the game as you do, it'll be a...

At the weekend my daughter came back from a day trip to York with 4 cans for me. It rekindled my affections, somewhat. One was a tiramisu stout, which was excellent. Another tasted like body butter but the aftertaste was ok. Another was an epic IPA. Forget the 4th. might be cos one of them...
