    Scalping

I use their ‘five’ which as you might have guessed is a US-05. It generally rips through a beer in a couple of days. Their midland Trent has been great for bitters

    What BBQ?

I have a Cobb bbq and love it. Uses compressed coconut and lasts for about 3 hours. I can cook on it after about 2 minutes. Done a normal bbq and smoked meat joints on it such a versatile bit of kit

St. Peter’s cream stout. First ever brew

Definitely. Next one is a wilko winter ale with a dry hop edition and a bag of dry malt I think. Got a coopers real ale basic kit with the equipment for Christmas so I’m trying to think of something a bit more advanced to do with that to try and push what I’m doing

St. Peter’s cream stout. First ever brew

This was a lot of firsts for me here. Never brewed anything, never bottled anything and never kegged anything. Although my stout suffered with over carbonation on the whole I think I survived quite well.

Basic compared to some but I got a keg. Any tips would be appreciated

I’ve got a corny keg. Hoping to get a 19 litre on Monday.

    Keg carbonation

Yeh I had thought that might happen but it’s worth pointing out in case

    Keg carbonation

Many thanks I shall give it a go

    Keg carbonation

I can’t fault the logic there if I’m honest. It will be ready for a second pint then. Do you disconnect the gas once it’s been carbonated?

    Keg carbonation

I take it once it has been carbonated enough I can remove the gas line and reconnect when serving?

    Keg carbonation

Great I’ll give it a go. No it’ll be in a cool store as I don’t like my beer too cold

St. Peter’s cream stout doesn’t seem to be doing anything

Many thanks, very little water needed then
