@GF21 don’t let all this garbage confuse you. So far you have done everything correctly. Conditioning in the keg is a great way to achieve carbonated beer. Now that the beer has had time to cool in the fridge though. You will need to add some gas to the keg to bring the pressure up to be able to...

I am not sure you are actually reading my posts 🤣 I briefly mentioned it. As an aside. You are the one banging that drum, mentioning Henry’s law and all that. My response to the OP is as clear as day. Bung some gas into the keg. Job done. Removing the keg from the fridge is only going to warm up...

    pressure barel

Pardon me but I am not suggesting anything of the sort. I am not talking about carbonic acid changing state as it’s poured into a glass or anything at all to do with PH. Also, no one here needs to know Henry’s law. I am familiar with it, but you don’t need to know it to have experience with...

Yes, sort of. If there was a regulator on the barrel. You would see a drop in psi as the Co2 dissolves into the beer. The loss of pressure is due to the Co2 dissolving into the beer and forming carbonic acid. Carbonic acid is part of what gives the beer it’s carbonation. More Co2 is needed to re...

You definitely will have lost all the pressure in the head space of the barrel. As soon as the beer begins to cool the carbonation level will change. This is why you are getting a trickle. Co2 is dissolved more easily into cold beer. You will need to dispense some Co2 into the barrel to serve...

    Cyclists.

I don’t cycle, so I wasn’t aware that road users shout this at cyclists. It seems like a very odd hang up to have. 1, all the cyclists I know also own a car. Cycling is a pleasure for them. 2, local roads are maintained by local authorities and maintenance is funded out of council tax. We all...

    Scalping

I agree with this. Look at the old corner shop for instance. The owner would go to ‘Booker’, or some other large wholesale outlet and purchase stock in bulk to retail at a profit. This has been going on for years.

    Scalping

That’s interesting. Personally I have not had any issues with CML yeast. Though I have read that others have had issues, like yourself. I have only used there Belgian and Wheat yeasts. Both seemed to produce a good final product. I will sample a few more and see how I fair before I commit to a...

I think it is yeah. They seem like a company that respects the product and it’s customer base though. So that’s something.

5L mini kegs - can I fill and keep them like bottles?

They are very good indeed. The set up is not unique to Dark Farms, but there custom black paint job and Dark Farms logo is a nice touch to the keg itself.

Oh, fantastic. You won’t look back. Please, send me some picks of your first pour. I can’t wait. I am excited for you 🤣

5L mini kegs - can I fill and keep them like bottles?

Here is a brew that I have just tapped. Naturally Carbonated in the keg for 3 weeks with 40 grams o plain old sugar. It’s a 6%abv Belgian Beer. Served, as you can see, from my dark farms 10litre keg. Co2 at 15psi. Beautiful thick stable head.

    Carbonation

Just tapped a Belgian beer that I brewed at the beginning of last month. Was aiming for something comparable to Leffe in flavour. As we are talking about carbonation. Check out these white fluffy clouds...

    'Packaging' timing query

You can go from 14 day primary to keg and carb. I wouldn’t worry too much about the sediment. It will be fairly minimal in my experience and will probably sit clear of your beer line anyway.
