    Advice re AG kit

Hi Just been made redundant after a lot of years with my company so there is some spare cash to spend !!! I have been brewing kits for the past year or so and been quite successful with the results. I am looking to start AG and have been looking at the HBB site (Mr Lard). I want to do 50l...

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

I bottled mine on 24/8/13 and it started out really grapefruity. Tried one over the weekend and it is now VERY bitter. Very disappointed with this kit as I was expecting a good brew. Greenland Stinger :drink:

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

I have done 2 of the Wherry kits so far, first one as per instructions, second one dry hopped, day 8 of 14 days, with 50g of EKG and the difference was quite marked. The second kit had much more flavour and obviously more aroma an all round nicer pint. Third one on the go now and I will dry hop...

    Fermentation.

I had exactly the same with the 2 Wherry kits I have done. Not much action for 24/36 hours then not much of a Krausen either. Both kits went down to 1008/9 after 14 days so perhaps its just the way the kit works. GS :drink:

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

Is it possible this kit is over hopped? They provide 75g in total of Simcoe, Centennial and Summit. My finished product has a very strong taste of grapefruit, although this has mellowed slightly after a while. I am still quite new to home brewing but is 75 grams in a kit a lot? Cheers GS :drink:

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

Tried 1 over the weekend and the grapefruit taste is still there but I must say I think it has reduced a bit. Its not unpleasant but still a bit to fruity for me. The wait continues, my Wherry stock is getting low!!! GS :drink:

    Re: Festival Razorback IPA Review

Had this bottled for 10 days so I thought I'd try one! Tasted very grapefruity. Has anyone else had this and will it mellow out at all. Its a bit too fruity for my taste. GS :drink:

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

I brewed this and added 250gms light spray malt 50 gms brewing sugar, just what I had left. Brewed short to 21 litres and dry hopped with 30 gms EKG. Its been in the bottle for just over 3 weeks and its a great pint. I bought a bottle last week just to try the real thing and I can honestly say...
