Inkbird STC 1000 NTC Sensor extension

Hi all, Ive just wired up a few inkbird STC 1000 and the temp probes are woefully short for my needs. To buy longer ones will leave me waiting for a china delivery time or paying more than the actual bloody STC cost in the first place. I have a load of copper speaker cables knocking around...

One Pid, 2 SSR's and Two Elements??

Hello there! I have dithered for months and today decided to empty my brain onto a poorly laid out excel spread sheet…. I would really appreciate someone who knows what they’re doing to have a look at my wiring diagrams for a 2 element, (5.5kw + 3.5kw) electric brewing setup for a 1bbl system...

    Baguette Beer Water Help

Water was treated with Campden so I must have picked up an infection. The salt figures came from a french chap who has been trying to do similar things and has been speaking to the toast ale guys. I agree that the level of 18g quoted is a little high, perhaps impossible, but thats what he...

    Baguette Beer Water Help

Someone has said to try a Gose but thats really not my type of brew. I like the idea of the darker beer though. Salt caramel chocolate porter...could be nice.

    Baguette Beer Water Help

Hi. I have a strong desire to succeed in making a beer with a portion of the grist consisting of old baguettes. Essentially I work in the hotel business in France and we have a lot of wastage, so like any reasonable home brewer I have seen the potential in adding it to my grain bill. After a...

Thanks for that. I went picking this morning and got about 100g and funnily enough ive got them steeping right now. Im chickening out of putting them in the beer now but will use the elderflower tea for something, maybe a mead or add a bit to a low abv ginger beer this weekend. cheers!

    Mandarina Elderflower Pale

I see. I'm not after that kind of interesting...do you recall how you added them by chance? I just keep saying every year I'm going to do something with these bloody elderflowers but never get round to it....some kind of mead was the other option. Want to get to know the hop a bit so don't...

    Mandarina Elderflower Pale

Hi there. Looking for some thoughts on this recipe. I've got a bag of mandarina hops and the elderflowers are just right on the trees over the road so naturally I thought the two might go well together in a brew. Here's my recipe for target FV of 23l Mash @65 for 60 mins Original Gravity...

Help, my beers are under attack!

So I'm pretty sure it is 99% clear. Good to go probably. It just makes me a little nervous now to know that amount of **** was in there. It may come out of the box again...in the summer...maybe.

Help, my beers are under attack!

So for a bit of closure, it looks like yes, it was the plate chiller. Soaked the ******* for 24 hours in pbw and nothing happened. Ran some boiling water through it, clear as a bell. Put my chops over it and blew through it...well, more funky black stuff came out than water. Half hour later, I'm...

Help, my beers are under attack!

I wouldn't start with that of course.....I'm sure some decent time with some boiling water, bleach, pbw and starsan will clear up any infection....I hope.
