Pressure dials when cylinder turned off- do I have a leak?

CO2 alarms are more common in commercial environments - like cellars. I thought CO2 monitors were all the rage with covid ventilation concerns.

Pressure dials when cylinder turned off- do I have a leak?

I don’t believe you should be concerned by that leakage rate, as others said - calculate the pipe volume and do the maths. You’ll be putting more out yourself. However, it’s still a potential hazard if something goes wrong. Weakest link and all. Gas cylinder valves aren’t really designed to be...

    Strange facts.

Edinburgh is on the East coast and is West of Liverpool. It is also as far North as Moscow. Oh - and Land’s End isn’t the Southernmost point either, I think that’s Lizard point.

    What razor do you use.

R89 head on a solid handle from exec shaving. Works well, simple and solid. Rex Envoy - a little more aggressive, phenomenally grippy handle and nicely engineered. One blade hybrid - single edge, works well but odd to have a floating blade. Gillette sensor excel if travelling. Also an old...

    Blichmann Therminator

They are US GHT. They used to sell a back flush accessory to link the water side up to the wort side to back flush after use - I bought two to give a full set of required connections and butchered. You can get US GHT connectors on line.

    Book by Dave Line

Eighth impression 1982 - no sign. This may be a false memory but I recall a recipe along with an illustration depicting someone asleep and dreaming of flowers (hops) and Valhalla - like the style in Papazian but I couldn’t find it there either.

Dry yeasties; Hydrate or not? - the final answer from Lallemand

Rehydrate? Pitch temp vs ferment temp? Aerate? I never used to rehydrate but tried it for a little bit because that was the advice from forums and so on. I recall the advice to rehydrate at a higher than pitch temp - around blood temp - so was probably thermally stressing the yeast as it...

    Brewuk website "down for maintenance"

Judging by the fact the charge is to cover a debt as a result of a court order between Mr & Mrs and the addresses have changed I’d say that they are no longer a couple and the businesses have been separated as well. Closing the doors to new orders is likely to avoid claims of fraudulent/...

They shifted the ownership up by adding a holding company, Greg resigned, his wife left as sole director butGreg still has a formal charge over the assets so must have money in it. Probably an ownership shuffle to avoid everything being grouped together for tax purposes. Certainly to separate...

    Sub-postmasters cleared.

There’s a bbc world service podcast on it that is well worth listening to, it’s been on the radio recently as well. The link is to parts 1-5. Worth googling Paula Vennells as well. The Great Post Office Trial - Parts 1-5 - BBC Sounds

Removing a post form a corny

I got a 22mm deep socket from Halfords for just this purpose - my kegs are all AEB. I recall seeing somewhere that the poppet valves can’t be taken apart for cleaning - I meant to look for some replacements to have on hand but haven’t needed one yet. I use a spare connector to vent or drain the...

Closed transfer and bottling - are they mutually exclusive?

In commercial environments you’ll find they cap on foam. The flow is controlled to fill gently with a splash at the end to create the foam. I agree - what is the point of purging the bottle with co2 when you’re going to purge it with beer. Withdrawing the wand draws in air - displace it with...
