Drunkula has the sacred first dibs on it. Apologies.
The firkin is a beast and would be a great investment if you want to serve your beer at an event (though I had to do a double brew day to make it work.
Hello,
I am getting married and SWMBO would like more room in the house. I have also been unable to brew in our new house as the kitchen is a bit small and, to be honest, I have a love of brewing but will be back to it when I have the funds for a proper man-cave. I bought all this kit new and...
Set it up today and it didn't blow its top!
Surprisingly good considering the overpriming but I've kept it out in the cold for a month. First couple of pints pretty cloudy but am now leaving it for 48 hours before the main event where it should hopefully clear.

Thank you. Pretty embarrassing I know...
It's so far staying intact but I'm worried about putting it in the car to move it to this venue!

Many thanks.
I've now discovered a far weightier problem: I've overprimed. I stupidly had my parameters wrong on the brewer's friend priming calculator and I put 400grams of sugar into the firkin...
Now, damage limitation: it's outside in the snow where I know it won't blow up due to the...
Hello,

With the cask almost entirely full, I went to hammer in the shive and it just wouldn't go in fully. Bubbles kept fizzing near the sides of the hole and I felt like it just wasn't secure. I siphoned out about a...
Hi pal, I personally don't use a bottling bucket but I know others do.
I have the same syphon and so I use two things to stop the sediment getting swirled around.
1) A mesh bag around the end of the syphon (bottom end.) This won't help if you really swirl it up but stops any flecks getting in...
I hadn't planned on force carbing because I wanted it to be properly cask conditioned.
If it's on stillage three days before it should be ok, right?

Looks good. Think it'd affect the priming of the beer? I only have the one firkin which would mean siphoning the beer through the filter to the firkin but then presumably it would be flat?
An update: the groom is heading down three before the wedding so I could put the firkin in with him and...
Thanks guys. Just for information purposes the beer I'm brewing is in the style of Proper Job (scaled down on ABV for a session.)

Because they have many processes that don't translate to a home-brewer/I find that I pick up more from multiple sources.
