Busy day. Don't worry I brought refreshments.
First a wheat beer from the father in law, dated 2016! A kit wheat beer with extra sugar going by the note attached. Tasted of rank fizzy water and went straight down the drain. Next up a Polly's which tasted of pine trees, quite nice.
Another hoppy NEIPA thing tonight. Keep Left DIPA from Verdant Brewery. Less sweet and more hoppy than the Polly's DIPA I had the other day, I definitely prefer this balance.
Still half a fridge full of hoppy beasts to get through. I'll try and make a dent this weekend for Notkoberfest.
Checking the gravity of my English Ale this morning (and having a cheeky taste). I could drink this straight out of the fermenter!
It's super clear already. How high should I carb it to? 2.2 vols? Or is that too much?
Well at least you'll have plenty of time!
Just had my last BBQ of the year and a can of Polly's Slow Repetitions DIPA
This beer really confused me, it's sweet like an alcopop! Almost no bitterness, sweet and fruity, full thick mouthfeel, and zero alcohol bite (at 8.8%). My wife could smell...
I wasn't expecting much tbh because its only a weak session beer and I usually go for a stronger brew, but this beer was great. I've enjoyed all the Beer52 box so far, it might just be worth signing up.
